Samsung I9500 Galaxy S4

Samsung Galaxy S4 reviewManufactured by Samsung Electronics, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is a smartphone.
A report in Wikipedia.org shows that the phone was announced  on March 14, 2013. It is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy S III. The phone has new software features such as Smart Alerts, Smart Stay, and Smart Scroll, a 13-megapixel back camera, and a 4.99-inch (127 millimetres) 1080p display. I comes in two major versions, one featuring an Exynos 5 Octa and the other featuring a Snapdragon 600. The S4 reached 10 million pre-orders in the first two weeks after its announcement.
This smart phone uses Google's Android mobile operating system with Samsung's custom TouchWiz "Nature UX" graphical user interface (GUI). The names of the Samsung software applications usually are named with an "S" followed by the function, for example, the voice assistant is called S Voice and the fitness-related app is called S Health.
S4 uses the front-facing camera for eye tracking. A video can be paused by looking away from the screen, a page can be scrolled by tilting the screen up or down while looking at it or by swiping a hand over the screen without touching it, and previews of photos or messages can be obtained by hovering with a finger above the corresponding location of the screen. Video and photo captures can use the front and rear cameras simultaneously to produce picture-in-the-picture views.
The Galaxy S4 supports the High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) video format. The camera software features: Dual Shot / Dual Recording/ Dual Video Call, Drama Shot, Sound & Shot, 360 Photo, Cinema Photo, Eraser, Night, Best Photo, Best Face, Beauty Face, HDR (High Dynamic Range), Panorama, and Sports modes.
Other software features include Group Play, Share Music, Share Picture, Share Document, Play Games, Story Album, S Translator, Optical Reader, Samsung Smart Scroll, Samsung Smart Pause, Air Gesture, Air View (which lets the user hover the finger over the device for special features, like previews), Samsung Hub, ChatON (Voice/Video Call, Share screen, 3-way calling), Samsung WatchON, S Travel (uses Trip Advisor), S Voice Drive, S Health, Samsung Adapt Display, Samsung Adapt Sound, Auto adjust touch sensitivity (Glove friendly), Samsung Link, Screen Mirroring, and Samsung KNOX (Business mode only). In addition, the software supports the standard suite of Google applications.

Hardware and design

Screen features a 4.99-inch (127 mm) PenTile RGBG Full HD Super AMOLED screen with 441.46 pixels per inch.
It comes with 16 GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, which can be supplemented with up to an additional 64GB via the microSD card slot.
The S4 GT-I9505 includes a multiband LTE transceiver and both models feature an infrared LED that can serve as a universal remote control.
In addition to the touch screen, the S4 has several physical user inputs including a home button located near the bottom of the screen, at the bottom of the S4 is the primary microphone and the microUSB port for both data connections and charging; it that supports USB host and MHL 2.0. There are volume keys on the left side and a power/lock key on the right. At the top there is a 3.5-millimetre (0.14 in) headphone jack, the secondary microphone, and IR blaster. The backside of the S4 has the 13 megapixel camera lens and LED flash, and at the bottom left edge is the loudspeaker.
The S4 comes in two regional variants that differ mainly in the internal hardware:

Octa-core variant

The GT-I9500 version of the S4 with the Exynos does not provide LTE. This S4 version has Samsung's Exynos 5 Octa (octa-core) system on a chip (SoC) chip containing the first ARM big.LITTLE heterogeneous architecture central processing unit (CPU). The eight core CPU comprises a 1.6 GHz quad-core Cortex-A15 cluster and 1.2 GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 cluster. The cluster of four faster "big" A15 cores is paired with the cluster of four slower, more power-efficient "LITTLE" A7 cores. At any given time, either the big cluster is active (for maximum performance) or the LITTLE cluster (for maximum power efficiency). The switching of the active cluster is performed on demand by the chip firmware, with the migration of the running software from outgoing to incoming cores taking 20µS. The CPU emulates a single quad-core processor to the operating system and applications. The SoC also contains an IT tri-core PowerVR SGX 544 graphics processing unit (GPU).

Quad-core variant

This S4 version is to be released for the United States of America, most of Europe, and other countries over the world has Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 SoC containing a quad-core 1.9 GHz Krait 300 CPU and an Adreno 320 GPU. It is worth noting that the AT&T and Verizon variants possess a locked bootloader, preventing the installation of unofficial ROMs or recovery systems.
