How to open Safaricom M-shwari account

The steps are:

Update your Menu by going to the Safaricom menu on the phone.

• Select "M-PESA".
• Go to "My account".
• Select "Update Menu"
• Enter M-PESA PIN
• Wait to receive the updated M-PESA menu
• To Opt - in to M-Shwari Go to M-PESA Menu.
• Select M-Shwari.
• A message will appear requesting you to read and accept the Terms & Conditions.
• SMS will be sent informing you that you are now activated on the M-Shwari service

Sambaza Airtime Safaricom

This is an airtime sharing service that enables both PrePay and PostPay subscribers to share airtime.

You can send any amount between Ksh5 and Ksh10,000.

How to Sambaza

a) SMS

• Create a new SMS message and enter (#) immediately after the airtime value you want to share, followed by the mobile number you want to top-up, e.g., 20#0722123456.
• Send to 140.
• Wait for confirmation by SMS.
• Both you and the person receiving the airtime will receive an SMS notification upon successful top-up. 

b) USSD

• Key in *140*Airtime value you would like to share* mobile number you want to top-up#, e.g. *140*20*0722123456#.
• Press the CALL/OK button.
• Both you and the person receiving the airtime will receive an SMS notification upon successful top-up. 

c) On your phone

• Go to safaricom on your phone
• Choose Sambaza
• Enter amount to sambaza and press ok
• Enter mobile phone to sambaza to
• Enter your Pin
• Press Ok

 (Please note that the person sending airtime must remain with a minimum of Ksh20 airtime on their phone).

Internet Sambaza Safaricom

Safaricom customers can transfer as much as 20MB worth of data bundles and as little as 5MB in a day, maximum allowed per session is set at 10 MB data bundles.

This can be done using three methods:

• Dial *544# then select Sambaza Internet
• Send an SMS with the amount of internet data bundles in MBs *Mobile number to 450
• Or you can visit www.safaricom.com/bundles

Now you can stay in touch with your friends and family with Internet Sambaza!

• Accessible to both Individual Postpay and prepay subscribers
• Customer can Sambaza Internet to a maximum of 20MB data bundles in a day, maximum allowed per session is set at 10 MB data bundles.
• Customer can request for Sambaza Internet requests up to 2 (two) times in a day.
• One can Sambaza Internet as minimum as 5 MBs data bundles
• A minimum of 5MB data bundle balance is required to remain on account before sambaza Internet request is successful.
• Sambaza Internet can be done via USSD, SMS or Online option.

Okoa Jahazi Safaricom

|Safaricom customers can now request for airtime advance of 10/-, 20/-, 50/-, 100/-, 250/-, 500/- and 1000/- . This can used to browse the internet or makelocal and  international calls.

How to use Okoa Jahazi

1. Okoa, dial *131#, press the call button and select your preferred Okoa Jahazi airtime amount.
2. To check your Okoa Jahazi airtime balance, dial *144*4# and press the call button.

Kopa Credo Airtel

 This is a credit advance service for Prepaid customers.
Airtel Subscribers have options of Ksh 5, 20, 50, 100, 250 and 500 credit airtime.
Customers will be required to repay the credit loan within three days. The airtime can be used to make calls to other networks.

A subscribermust have been on the Airtel network for at least three months.

 

To get Airtel credit advance:

Dial*221# or
Dial *100# go to Smart Services, select Kopa Credo.

Kopa Stima kwa Safaricom

Safaricom customer can now get electricity tokens also called okoa electricity of upto Kshs. 1000/= in advance and pay within 7 days. To use this service, dial *885# and follow the steps.They call it kopa (borrow) stima.

How do you as an Existing M-PESA Customer opt in/activate your line into the service?
