A new school calendar for 2017 has been unveiled by Education CS Fred Matiang’i banning all social activities in the third term. Such activities include
prayer days, visiting, half term breaks, sports, prize-giving ceremonies and parent-teacher meetings.

- Term two ends on August 12
- Term three term dates are August 29 to October 28.
- Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams starts on November 1 and ends November 3,
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams starts on November 7 and ends November 30,
- Headteachers will directly be in charge of tests in their schools.
